Dear Tampa Bay Turners,
I am writing to let you know how impressed I am with your swimming program. My daughter started swimming at 14 months in a different swimming program across town. After 18 months of twice a week lessons, she could not be in the water without someone holding her. We then switched her to TBT and she flourished. She is now 5 ½ years old and swimming the length of the pool and doing several different strokes. She is fearless in the water and looks forward to swim class every single time. The lessons are always fun and challenging. This program has given her confidence not only to swim, but in life. Miss Diane has led this program to be the best around and has trained her instructors how to properly motivate the children and challenge them. I believe that learning to swim at an early age is a gift that every parent is obligated to give their children and TBT is the best place for them to learn.
Tampa Bay Turners is awesome! Four years ago we walked in the door expecting to "try" gymnastics. We had taken a turn at t-ball, dance, soccer and karate. Each week it was the usual, "do I have to go?" In our time at TBT, I have never heard those words. Ruthie started out in the rec program with sweet coaches who were knowledgeable and caring. Since then she has continued to grow not only as an athlete but as a person. As a level 5 team gymnast, she a part of something really special. The coaches are amazing with years of experience to recommend them. It is a completely professionally run program that is recognized as being among the best in the state of Florida as well as across the US. This team has become like family. The girls here are consistently among the highest academic and athletic achievers in school. They learn discipline, patience, perseverance, compassion, and humility. They say it takes a village to raise a child...we are proud to call our village Tampa Bay Turners.
My daughter has been at TBT for two and a half years. She loves it here and has become a much better gymnast. Last year she was a Level 5 State All-Around Champion and this year she took 2nd place at State for Level 6. The coaches at TBT are very detail oriented and professional. Having said that, it is evident that they love the girls and have taken the time and care to get to know and understand each girl. I totally trust each coach and his or her judgment concerning my child. As far as my daughter is concerned, the discipline my daughter has learned here has followed her into school where she's been getting straight A's since TBT's influence in her life.
Our three daughters have been taking classes at TBT since they were 2 years old. They love their classes and coaches and look forward to going each week. The facilities are great and offer a wide variety of classes for all ages and levels. The coaches really get to know their students and guide the them to their maximum potential. We would recommend TBT to everyone!
I often say that Tampa Bay Turners is our children’s second home because they both have been TBT members since they were 7 months old.
My daughter and son have equally participated in TBT’s swim program, Mommy and Me Gymnastics, Competitive Gymnastics, Tiny Turners Camp, Summer Camp, Birthday Party’s by TBT and Pre-School open gym.
There are so many benefits that my children have received from their gymnastics training at TBT. For instance, they have learned coordination, body awareness, balance, self-confidence and discipline. Furthermore, my daughter whom is more cautious than my son has learned that she doesn’t have to be fearful of a challenging tasks. Instead, she has learned that if she practices an exercise she can learn to master it.
Similarly, the benefits of their swimming program have been just as awarding. Both my children were swimming and trained in pool safety by time they reached the age of 1. When living in Florida, is there any physical activity more important than a child learning to swim?
I can not express how much my family has gained from being apart of Tampa Bay Turner’s programs. We truly enjoy being apart of the TBT family.

As the old African proverb states, “It takes a village to raise a child.” In my case, it took both sides of Tampa Bay. I was a Tampa Bay Turners gymnast from 1994 to 2008, from pre-K thru high school graduation. To say that I grew up in the gym and that it was a major part of my childhood is an understatement. Tampa Bay Turners defined my childhood. The coaches there were truly my extended family. My younger sister actually took her first steps in the gym! Currently, I am a 21-year-old junior at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. When I come home to visit, I know I need to see my grandparents, and Brad, Colleen, and Amy- family. I began my gymnastics career on the pre-team at 4 years old, and progressed to compete in level 10 for 5 years. After my career at TBT, I got the opportunity to compete on two Division 1 teams at the U of I, gymnastics and diving. My experience at TBT taught me how to balance a rigorous academic and athletic schedule, which is crucial in learning time management, responsibility, and commitment. It was undoubtedly an amazing experience thru and thru, and I feel that gymnastics at TBT helped form the person I am today.

"The love of a family is life’s greatest gift and the family that Tampa Bay Turners has built is just that - a gift. Whether you practice and compete for TBT presently or have taken life’s new path to college, TBT has a way of embracing an unconditional and perpetual relationship and connection with every child and family member. And just as within any family, growth, maturity, perseverance, confidence and humility are taught. Thus, growth means change and change involves risk, stepping from the known to the unknown. So step into the unknown and to all the benefits TBT has to offer."
